Adult Sunday School

Beginning at 9:30a.m., adults meet in the auditorium for

Bible study. Recently, Dana Everson has been the speaker for this time.

 

New Believer's Class

During Sunday School, new believers have a Bible study with Pastor Kevin Sullivan in the basement of the church. Any Christians looking to learn more about the fundamentals of our faith are invited to attend.

 

Evangelism Explosion

On Monday nights at 6:00p.m. the Pastor goes to visit those in the community for soul-winning and discipleship. If you are interested in helping in this ministry, please contact Pastor Sullivan.

 

Gideon's Army Prayer Breakfast

On the first Saturday morning of every month, the men enjoy an informal potluck-style breakfast, prayer time, and a Bible study. All men are invited to attend.

 

Mission Trips

Family Baptist Church has hosted annual trips to the Durham Rescue Mission in North Carolina, and has also made a trip to visit Shalom Ministries in New York City. In the spring of 2006, the church went on a missions trip to Mississippi to provide Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief.

 

Music Ministry

A busy music schedule provides opportunities to worship the Lord using one's vocal and instrumental skills. For a music schedule, please talk to Adam or Kim Blumer.

 

County Jail Ministry

On Tuesday nights, Family Baptist Church Pastor Kevin Sullivan and other members of the church provide Bible study and Biblical counseling in the Dickinson County Jail.

 

Reformers Unanimous

This Bible-based addictions program trains believers to counsel those in need, and provides a time when anyone can come to the church for counseling concerning addictions. Meetings are held on Saturday evenings at 7:00p.m. To visit the Reformers Unanimous webpage, click here.

 

Retreats

The ladies enjoy an annual fall retreat to Door County Wisconsin. In fall of 2006, the ladies participated in Northland Camp & Conference Center's Ladies' Heart Conference at the Landmark Resort in Door County, Wisconsin.

 

Bible Quizzing

Each month during the school year, the teens compete against youth groups from other area Upper Peninsula churches in the area of Bible knowledge. Quizzing helps to motivate young people to dig deeper in God's Word and provides fellowship with the youth from other churches. Check the announcements page for information concerning upcoming quizzes.

 

Victorian Pines

The teens minister monthly at a local assisted living home. The program includes special music and the preaching of God's Word.

 

Wednesday Night Teen Time

On Wednesday nights at 6:30p.m., the teens gather at the Sullivan's home for an encouraging time of fellowship, games, and Bible study. All community teens are invited.

 

Summer Camps

Each summer, the youth group spends a week at a Christian camp for a time of refreshing as well as challenge from God's Word. This is a wonderful time of fellowship, not only with those in the youth group, but also with other Christian teens from around the country. The youth group has attended camps at Northland Camp and Conference Center in nothern Wisconsin, The Wilds Christian Camp in Brevard, North Carolina, and Camp Canaanland in the eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

 

Youth After Church

A few times a year, the youth group will meet together at the home of a member of the church after the evening service on Sunday for a time of food, fellowship, and a challenge from God's Word.

 

Children's Church

While the adults listen to the preaching of the Word in the auditorium for the morning service, the children (two-year-olds through fourth-graders) attend a church service of their own in the basement.

 

Kids' Klub

On Wednesday nights at 6:30p.m., the children meet in the basement or outdoors (weather permitting) for a fun time of games, Scripture memory, and a challenge from God's Word. Transportation to Kids' Klub is provided free of charge. Please call Pastor Sullivan at (906) 779-0673 to make arrangements.

 

Nursery

The Family Baptist Church ladies minister each week by staffing the nursery, located on the lower level. Children up to two years of age are welcome. Click here for the nursery schedule.

 

Sunday School Classes

At 9:30a.m. on Sundays the children meet in the basement for age-appropriate classes that instruct them in God's Word.

 

Vacation Bible School

Each summer, Family Baptist Church hosts a weekly Vacation Bible School for third- through sixth-graders. Children enjoy an entertaining program while learning more about Jesus Christ and His Word. All youth from the community are invited to attend.
